Ask for his room, which contains his four-poster bed and a dresser where he stashed his many wigs. The room opens onto views of the famous 26 acre gardens and family graveyard.

May 2008 - We love to stay overnight at Monmouth Plantation and pretend to live in this gracious mansion surrounded by 26 acres. You can reserve one of six rooms in the 1818 home, but we prefer the Garden Cottages out back. Beautiful landscaping fills the surrounding acreage. Late evening or early morning, a rocking chair on the porch offers a front-row seat to a lovely seasonal show.
